Running errands and organizing papers isn’t necessarily part of a traditional high school education, and living in a dormitory in Washington, D.C., isn’t standard either.
But one local girl will do just that this September, serving as a Senate page sponsored by Sen. Byron Dorgan, D-N.D.
Pam Kunzman introduced Dan Kunzman who showed slides and spoke about the services provided by the Anne Carlsen Center at the Dec. 28 noon Kiwanis meeting in the Lantern Room. Kunzman is the executive director of the Anne Carlsen Center Foundation and has been here about 1 1/2 years. He said the ACC employs 364 people and about 290 of them are full time. Many people are surprised that the ACC has a K-12 school that is fully accredited the same as other schools in North Dakota. It is also a hospital with 54 beds and about half of the residents are medically fragile.
Mary Schwartzkopf has been named Mrs. Jamestown and Katee Kunzman has been named Miss Teen Jamestown. Both will compete for the titles of Mrs. North Dakota International and Miss Teen North Dakota International Nov. 21 in Fargo at the Fargo South High School Theater. The Mrs. North Dakota, Miss North Dakota and Miss Teen North Dakota International pageants are official preliminaries to the Mrs. International, Miss International and Miss Teen International pageants to be held in Chicago in July.
