The Hillcrest Ladies Association will be having their first Ladies Day on Tuesday, May 10. All golfers interested should meet in the clubhouse at 1:40 p.m. where cards will be drawn for foursomes and tee times, which will be from 2-2:30 p.m.
Theresa Haag was ready to compete at Ladies Night on Tuesday at Hillcrest Golf Course.
Haag took home three of the five awards after draining the longest putt on No. 11, hitting the longest drive on No. 10 and shooting the best 12 holes out of 18.
Lora Fisher won the closest-to-the-pin contest on her second shot on hole No. 2 Tuesday night as part of Hillcrest Ladies Day activities.
Evie Burgard won the low putt and blind-hole contest, while Alta Wenaas won the drawing.
Dinner is served each Tuesday night. Call 252-4320 to reserve a spot.
The Harbor, Edgeley, N.D., will be the scene for a Ladies Spring Luncheon at noon May 8. Guest speaker for the event will be Shannon Cozby. Cozby was born and raised in Olympia, Wash. She moved to Jamestown to attend Jamestown College. She graduated with a double major in biology and English, and was named a College Fellow in English. During her junior year at Jamestown College, she married JP Cozby. They live and work in Jamestown.
The Eagles Ladies Auxiliary will be serving walking tacos at the Buffalo Mall from 10 a.m. 3:30 p.m. Saturday for Home on the Range and other local charities. The group will be set up by the KMart entrance. Cost is $3 for walking tacos, $2 for hotdogs and $1 for pop or water.
October can be a great month for the Ladies who Lunch. The food might not be particularly filling, but the stories of people helped by the women sitting around the tables provide much more substantial satisfaction. That was certainly Cokie’s experience at a lunch last week with our daughter in Washington, and one this week with our daughter-in-law in Raleigh as local women’s giving circles — great groups of women who band together to better their communities — honored their awardees.
