A salad luncheon will be served at First United Methodist Church (next to public library) at 11 a.m. Oct. 6. On Oct. 23, the All Church Bazaar will be held again at the Buffalo Mall. Members are asked to have their items priced and delivered by 9 a.m.
Trinity Lutheran women’s annual salad luncheon will be held from 11:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. Wednesday and is open to the public. An assortment of fruit, vegetable, pasta, potato and seafood salads will be served along with rolls for $5. The profits will benefit Trinity women’s benevolences.
The Annual WLCA Salad Luncheon is scheduled from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 1403 Ninth Ave. S.E. The Immanuel Women of the ELCA are hosting this fundraiser in the fellowship hall. The cost is $6 per person with the proceeds used to fund various service projects throughout the year.
The Harbor, Edgeley, N.D., will be the scene for a Ladies Spring Luncheon at noon May 8. Guest speaker for the event will be Shannon Cozby. Cozby was born and raised in Olympia, Wash. She moved to Jamestown to attend Jamestown College. She graduated with a double major in biology and English, and was named a College Fellow in English. During her junior year at Jamestown College, she married JP Cozby. They live and work in Jamestown.
The Jamestown Ministerial Association Lenten luncheon and services continue each Wednesday at a different local church. Lunch will be served from 11:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. with worship service following from 12:20 to 12:50 p.m.
The James River Senior Center and RSVP are sponsoring a soup and bread luncheon to benefit the American Red Cross’ Buffalo Valley Chapter from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday at the James River Senior and Community Center, 502 10th Ave. S.E., Jamestown.
The Jimmie Booster Luncheon is scheduled for Friday at noon at the Nafus Center, Level 2.
Cost is $6 and is open to the public.
The Jimmie Booster Club will also be hosting Family Fun Night Jan. 29 between the men’s and women’s basketball games at the Civic Center, featuring food, games and prizes.
The Presbyterian Women met Dec. 3 for their annual Advent Luncheon and Thank Offering Service. The Thank Offering is received annually from Presbyterian Women nationally and goes to support mission projects nationally and internationally. At least 40 percent of the Thank Offering funds go to health-related issues. Projects selected must meet criteria established by the Creative Ministries Offering Committee of Presbyterian Women. Other special offerings collected throughout the year are the birthday offering, Least Coin offering and the Presbyterian Hunger Fund.
