Blue Jays QB Lynch named all-state

Jamestown High School’s Jordan Lynch has been named to the Class AAA all-state second team. Lynch, the Blue Jays dual-threat quarterback, accounted for over 1,100 yards of offense during his senior season. He ran for 659 yards and five touchdowns and threw for 482 and five scores. Lynch was also named to the all-West Region team as both a quarterback and punter.

Optimist Club cites athletes for awards

The Jamestown Optimist Club honored four athletes as the Athletes of the week. Seniors Niki Schmitz, of the Blue Jay volleyball team, Brooke Lukach, of the Blue Jay swimming and diving team, and Jordan Lynch, of the Blue Jay football team, and sophomore Katie Zent, of the Jimmie volleyball team, and freshman Tom Cooke, of the Jimmie men’s soccer team, were all honored. Schmitz led the Jays to a 3-4 record in the Bismarck High School/Century High School Volleyball Invitational. She finished with 15 aces, 10 blocks, 12 digs and 64 kills in the two-day tournament.

DECA students attend conference

DECA students attend conference More than 2,900 students and advisers from 12 states attended DECA’s Central Region Leadership Conference in December in Minneapolis. North Dakota was represented with 225 students and advisers. The Jamestown High School Chapter had these six students attending the conference: Megan Roaldson, Alex Reed, Clay Greenwood, John Kleese, Jordan Lynch and Chris Well.

Lynch receives NDSU scholarship

John Lynch, son of John and Jeri Lynch, James-town, received the North Dakota State University Presidential Scholarship, which totals $12,000 over four years. The Presidential Scholarship awards are among the most prestigious academic scholarships presented to incoming freshman. The scholarship criteria requires the student to score a 32 or higher on the ACT.

Lynch named Musician of Month

Lynch named Musician of Month John Lynch was selected as Musician of the Month for January. Lynch is a senior member of the James-town High School Wind Ensemble, Jazz Band, Concert Choir and Vocal Jazz Ensembles. He was selected to perform in the Northwest Festival, All State Mixed Choir, UND Honor Choir and ACDA Men’s Honor Choir.
