FARGO — North Dakota is improving in premature birth rates, according to the March of Dimes.
The annual March of Dimes Premature Birth Report Card was released today Wednesday and for the first time North Dakota saw an improvement, going from a “D” grade in 2009 to a “C” in 2010 with a preterm birth rate of 11.1 percent.

Local business leaders and citizens voluntarily spent time behind bars helping raise $6,000 during the annual March of Dimes Jail and Bail event. Proceeds from the event go towards funding programs and research of the March of Dimes.
The March for Dimes 2009 March for Babies in Jamestown has been canceled. The event had been planned for Saturday.
Funds raised for the event can be taken to U.S. Bank and put in an account for the March of Dimes.
March for Babies is asking for anyone interested in the Jamestown event to attend the kickoff meeting from 4 to 5 p.m. Thursday at Grizzly’s Grill N’ Saloon.
