The Jamestown High School Music Department chose Matthew McIntyre as the Musician of the Month for December.
McIntyre is involved in JHS Orchestra, JHS Choir and Jazz Band and plays bass for the Vocal Jazz Ensemble. He has been selected for Northwest Music Festival and University of North Dakota Honor Orchestra for the 2009-10 school year. He performed in the Orchestra Festival in West Fargo, N.D., and also performs with the Bismarck-Mandan Symphony Orchestra.
He is the son of Michael and Cheryl McIntyre.
Matthew McIntyre and Jocelyn Meidinger performed in the National Honor Choirs in Oklahoma City on March 3-7.
They were selected through an audition process. The choirs had the opportunity to work with the composers who wrote their pieces such as Z. Randall Stroope, David Childs, Ken Berg and Bob Chilcott.

They worked for several days under conductors Christine Bass and Timothy Sharp. Each choir also had the opportunity to work with composers of their pieces during their week in Oklahoma City. The National High School honor choirs were the highlight of the National ACDA Convention.
The Jamestown High School Music Department has chosen Matthew McIntyre as its November Musician of the Month.
McIntyre is involved in High School Orchestra, JHS Choir and JHS Jazz Band. He accompanies the JHS Vocal Jazz Ensemble on bass and bass guitar.
Gorgeous backdrops and sumptuous costumes are but two factors that two weeks ago made Jamestown College’s fall musical, “Camelot” an audience favorite. Under the direction of Mike McIntyre, the cast of 32 included some memorable standouts.
Several local students have been accepted to Jamestown College beginning in the fall semester of 2008.
Taryn McDonald, Anthony McIntyre, Aryn Ost, and Andrew Ronan are 2008 graduates of James-town High School. Savannah Krapp is a 2006 graduate of Jamestown High School.
McDonald, the daughter of Terry and Robyn McDonald, was active in I-Safe at James-town High School.
