The JC women overcame a slow start to hold off South Dakota Mines with a big second half, while the Jimmie men torched the Hardrockers early and controlled all 40 minutes.

The buy-in from every guy on our team has been great and that’s made it a lot easier for me.”

Valley City State head coach Jeff Kaminsky and Dickinson State head coach Ty Orton are finalists along with Upper Iowa’s Brian Dolan and Iowa assistant Chad Walthall.

Iowa State confirmed the swift and somewhat surprising hiring of Fred Hoiberg late Tuesday night after finalizing negotiations with the former Cyclones star.
Hoiberg, known as “The Mayor” during his playing career, replaces Greg McDermott, who left Iowa State after four seasons to take over as the head coach at Creighton.
