A motorcycle accident on Interstate 29 in Richland County killed one person early Tuesday morning, according to the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
The patrol said Mallie Breuer, 25, Mooreton, N.D., was a passenger on a 1998 Kawasaki motorcycle driven by a 34-year-old male who was northbound on I-29.
A Napoleon, N.D., man was treated for injuries after a motorcycle accident Monday, according to the Stutsman County Sheriff’s Office.
The accident happened around 9:20 p.m. on Old Highway 10 about a mile west of Medina, N.D.
The idea started on a night patrol through Iraq. It culminates each year in the throaty roar of up to 200 motorcycles driving through Jamestown.
“This is up close and personal to me,” said Mark McMahon, one of the organizers of the Never Forget Motorcycle Run. “Two of the guys lost from the 1-4-1 were from my battalion.”
While other bikers are making their way to Sturgis, Fargo resident Jeff Westgard will be racing through.
Westgard is participating in this year’s Hoka Hey Motorcycle Challenge. Westgard will ride in the 10,000 mile race across the country, touching every state in the contiguous area without a cell phone, GPS or any other form of electronic help.
