The North Dakota Game and Fish Department is looking for information on the illegal shooting of a moose in southwestern Traill County.
According to Jason Scott, district game warden for the Game and Fish Department in Fargo, the bull moose was shot sometime Saturday evening or Sunday morning about five miles east and 2 1/2 miles north of Galesburg, N.D.

There is a move afoot in the North Dakota Legislature to strike out by amendment the line item for land acquisition in the governor’s budget of the North Dakota Game and Fish Department. The Senate Appropriations Committee is hearing the bill now.
Anglers fishing Odland Dam and Alkaline Lake this winter are asked to participate in creel surveys designed to help managers assess the status of these fisheries. Interviews take only a few minutes and information is kept confidential, said the North Dakota Game and Fish Department.
A creel survey at Odland Dam in Golden Valley County continues through March 2009, and one at Alkaline Lake in Kidder County runs through April 2009.
The North Dakota Game and Fish Department reiterated Tuesday which unfilled deer licenses can be used during the muzzleloader season.
