North Dakota farmers produced less corn but more soybeans in 2009.
The Agriculture Department in its annual crop production report says the state’s corn crop at 208 million bushels was 27 percent below the record 2008 crop, but North Dakota soybeans were up 10 percent to 116 million bushels. That was the second-highest production on record, behind 122 million bushels in 2006.
