Limvere died of a heart attack Thursday at Sanford Health in Fargo. He was 65.

Two Fargo pastors face DUI charges

Fargo police arrested two Olivet Lutheran Church pastors Thursday on suspicion of drunken driving, an incident their bishop called a painfully public mistake. The Rev. Kristopher M. Church installs new pastor The Rev. James J. Naumann was installed as pastor of Our Savior’s Evangelical Lutheran Church on May 26. The Naumann family moved to Jamestown from Valentine, Neb. The Rev. James Sandeen of St. Paul’s Lutheran, Lakewood, Colo., officiated at the installation. Naumann was extended a call to serve in Jamestown after Our Savior’s former pastor, Eric Libby, accepted a call to serve Grace Lutheran in Sleepy Eye, Minn.

Pastor says he’s getting help

A pastor says an affair with a stripper that led to extortion charges against her and a fall from grace for him could make for an important sermon. “I hope someday I get to preach that sermon, but only time will tell,” the Rev. Mark Ostgarden said Wednesday. “In the meantime, I intend to get the help I need and seek counseling and find some work.”

Dancer allegedly extorts Valley City pastor

It started three years ago with a $100 dance. It became an affair that ended with a Valley City, N.D., pastor’s resignation and the Moorhead dancer’s arrest on extortion charges. There was no touching allowed the first time Bunny Annette Byington danced nude for 30 minutes in front of the Rev. Mark S. Ostgarden, according to the version of events he gave police.

Local pastors organize benefit for Gundersons

A benefit spaghetti supper to help defray expenses for a kidney transplant for Emily Gunderson is from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at First Assembly of God Church, 1720 Eighth Ave. S.W., at the top of Mill Hill. Gunderson, who’s on dialysis, will receive a kidney from her father, Troy Gunderson, executive director of James Valley Youth For Christ, on Jan. 8 at Mayo Clinic. Father and daughter will spend weeks in Rochester on an inpatient and outpatient basis.
