STAFF BLOG JAMESTOWN SPORTS Bismarck bombs Century
As a point of fact, Bismarck bombed Century 40-14 Friday night at the Bowl.
Inexplicably, some were reporting Century leading 29-21 in the fourth quarter, but not quite.

DETROIT (AP) — Tom Brady was perfect on the field and his exit was first class.
Brady threw a season-high four touchdown passes, all in the second half, and the New England Patriots routed the Detroit Lions 45-24 on Thursday after trailing by 11 late in the second quarter.
BOSTON (AP) — New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady was in a two-car accident near his home Thursday morning, but was unhurt and hours later practiced as usual with his team just days before the season opener.
The crash at an intersection in Boston’s Back Bay area knocked over a light pole and sent a passenger in the other vehicle to the hospital with injuries that were serious but not considered life-threatening, officials said.
In a matter of minutes, Tom Brady and his New England Patriots went from being the team of the last decade to looking old, overmatched and, oddly, inept.
Fans sat in frozen silence. Barely into their seats, they saw the shocking truth on the scoreboard.
Wes Welker covered his head with a towel as he was carted off the field with his pants leg pulled above his left knee. It was the last look at the star receiver in a Patriots uniform for this season.
His teammates and coach Bill Belichick were resigned to moving into the playoffs without him even before Welker underwent an MRI on the knee Monday. The team did not announce the results.
The New Orleans Saints are still unbeaten and have joined the Indianapolis Colts in making NFL history.
Drew Brees threw for a season-high 371 yards and five touchdown passes, and the Saints beat the New England Patriots 38-17 on Monday night. The Saints joined the Colts at 11-0, the first time two teams have opened with that many wins in the same season.
Back on center stage, Tom Brady acted like, well, the NFL’s biggest star.
It seemed to take forever, though.
A year after being sidelined with torn knee ligaments, Brady resembled a rusty game manager more than the invincible record-setting quarterback who guided the Patriots to a perfect 2007 regular season. Yet, he threw two touchdown passes in the final 2:06 as New England beat the Buffalo Bills 25-24 on Monday night.
The Oakland Raiders took a big step toward improving their struggling run defense by acquiring five-time Pro Bowl defensive lineman Richard Seymour from New England Sunday.
The move does not come without its risks as the Raiders gave up a first-round pick in 2011, which could be in the top 10 based on Oakland’s recent history, to acquire a lineman who turns 30 next month and is in the final year of a contract.
FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (AP) — He married a supermodel, spent quality time with his 2-year-old son and appeared on the television show “Entourage,” which joked about his knee surgery in a way Bill Belichick would never let him talk about for real.
The Blue Jays were able to knock off Bismarck Century from the No. 2 spot in the latest Class A girls’ basketball poll. But Tuesday’s 35-34 victory over the Patriots in Jamestown, wasn’t enough to move the Blue Jays past Century in the poll this week.
