The House debated a bill Wednesday that would require North Dakota cities with more than 200 people to have at least one voting site open on the day of a statewide election.

Minot and Ward County will not be reducing the number of polling locations for 2010, and that’s probably a good thing. There simply wasn’t enough time to work out all the details of such a plan, which represents a major change in Election Day habits for residents.
North Dakota Republican Party Chairman Gary Emineth today sent a letter to his Democrat counterpart requesting that the democrats refrain from campaigning at state polling sites. The letter is in response to a rally the Democrats are planning to hold at the Alerus Center this Saturday.
