A storm packing straight-line winds and reported rotation clouds ravaged a wide swath of south central North Dakota last Sunday afternoon, uprooting trees and bins, damaging buildings and knocking out power to more than 2,500 customers of Dakota Valley Electric Cooperative.
BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — Thousands of North Dakotan residents were without power Sunday after a storm brought down miles of transmission lines, and utility officials say it could be a week or more before service is restored.
A spring storm Friday caused widespread outages in Otter Tail Power Co.’s service area, south and east of Garrison, N.D. Otter Tail officials said Friday customers in the towns of McClusky, Denhoff, Wilton, Regan and Wing should prepare to be without power potentially overnight.

Dakota Valley Electric still has a number of consumers that are out of power but due to the blizzard conditions it is unable to restore power to them.
