Reese Hawkins, friend and admirer of the late Louis L’Amour, will make a rare appearance Sunday afternoon to share his personal stories of the frontier author.
Hawkins, 93, said he’s not getting out much anymore, although he still lives on his own. He said his presentation Sunday at St. John’s Lutheran Church is the result of encouragement by the one of the church’s pastors, the Rev. Harlan Kaden.
The last presentation in the Arts Park Garden Series has been canceled. Tom Kalb, NDSU Extension Horticulturist in Bismarck, who was originally scheduled as the presenter, is not going to speak Wednesday. The Arts Center’s garden series has ended for the season.
Mark Middleton will be giving a presentation open to the public from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday at the Gladstone Inn and Suites. He will discuss how alcohol and drug use is implied to today’s youth through music, clothing and technology.
