Five to compete for Miss Rodeo N.D. pageant’s crown

Five contestants are vying to serve as ambassadors for the state and the sport of rodeo during the Miss Rodeo North Dakota Pageant to be held Oct. 6 to 9 in Minot. Princess for a day Once upon a time in a school not far away, one little girl wished for a kingdom filled with knights, squires and fairy godmothers. Friday, that dream came true. Arianna, a 4-year-old student at the Anne Carlsen Center in Jamestown, was treated to a day fit for a king — or in this case, a princess. For Arianna. the princess day celebration included all the royal trimmings — a golden carriage, jeweled tiara, Cinderella-inspired gown and slippers that sparkled like polished coal.

Mrs. U.S. United 2007, Mary Schwartzkopf of Lincoln, Neb., was crowned the U.S. United Queen of Queens 2008-2009 at the U.S. United Na-tional Pageant held at the Sheraton Gateway Hotel in Atlanta, Ga., July 20. Throughout 2007 and 2008, Schwartzkopf along with her sister Queens, (Ms. Elegant Ms. and the Elite Ms. Queens) made appearances throughout their reign. Schwartzkopf had the highest score collecting 560 points. That was the highest a Queen could make in the history of the U.S. United Pageant which celebrated its fifth year.
