Police are warning neighbors in south Minneapolis after robbers targeted people attending two late-night backyard gatherings.
Authorities said people were gathered in a backyard on Chicago Avenue South early Saturday when two suspects — one carrying a handgun — entered the yard and demanded everyone hand over their valuables. The suspects fled after taking money and wallets.
Police say they believe armed robberies in West Fargo and nearby Moorhead, Minn., are related.
That’s based on matching descriptions of the suspect and the similar nature of the robberies at Domino’s Pizza in West Fargo and Mellow Moods Pipe and Tobacco in Moorhead.
Authorities are investigating as many as eight random assaults, attempted assaults and attempted robberies in Fargo.
Police say two men have been arrested and other “people of interest” are being sought.
