Dickinson State University’s sixth annual Theodore Roosevelt Symposium titled, “Theodore Roosevelt: In the Arena of the West,” along with the 92nd annual meeting of the Theodore Roosevelt Association, will be held Oct. 27-30 in Dickinson and Medora, N.D.
DEADWOOD, S.D. (AP) — Restoration work is almost complete on a landmark in South Dakota’s Black Hills that honors former President Theodore Roosevelt.
The rock masonry is being repaired on Friendship Tower on Mount Roosevelt west of Deadwood. Crews also have built a new stairway and done foundation upgrades to direct water away.
Supervised open gyms are planned for Saturdays at Roosevelt and Gussner Elementary Schools.
Gyms will be open from noon-2 p.m. on Nov. 6, 13; Dec. 4, 11; Jan. 8, 15, 22, 29 and Feb. 5, 12, 19, 26.
