The Jamestown area has seen an uptick in reported sexual assaults in the first two months of 2010.
The Sexual Assault Response Team here has performed five exams so far this year. That’s about half of what was reported all last year, said Kali Brue-Lautt, client/staff coordinator at Central Valley Health. Because of these kinds of statistics, SART is planning a statewide conference to raise awareness and educate individuals about sexual assault and domestic violence.
A baked potato bar and live auction are planned Thursday at the Knights of Columbus Hall. Potatoes will be served from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. with the auction starting at 6 p.m.
Cost for the baked potatoes is $5 per person. Proceeds will benefit the local Sexual Assault Response Team.
