The Rev. Tom Eckstein will be selling and signing copies of his new book, “Bearing Their Burden,” at The Mustard Seed in The Buffalo Mall from 7 to 9 p.m. Dec. 10 and 1 to 3 p.m. Dec. 11. The cost of each book is $29.99 (plus tax).
Eckstein’s 370-page book explains what Scripture teaches about the issue of homosexuality. His book also addresses how people can reach out in love and compassion to individuals and families experiencing by this issue.
Plains Art Museum’s Hannaher’s, Inc. Print Studio was the site of a collaborative printmaking operation when it hosted artist Carl Oltvedt, poet Mark Vinz, printmaker John Volk and Jerry Richardson this summer.
The four worked together to produce a collaborative print that features a poem and landscape. Oltvedt, Vinz, Volk and Richardson will be present at a Broadside Signing Event from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 24. Hors d’ oeuvres, poetry and jazz by Mark Vinz, Dave Ferreira and Bill Law will also be featured at this free event.
Valley City native Ward Wilkins will be on hand for a book signing from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Barnes County Historical Society Museum during the city’s 125th celebration. Wilkins is the author of two books about growing up in Valley City during the Great Depression and the World War II years.
