Sports has a new power couple: Tiger Woods and Lindsey Vonn confirmed they’re dating.
Two months after rumors began circulating in Europe, Woods and Vonn posted separate items on their Facebook pages Monday afternoon to announce their relationship. The posts include photos of golf’s 14-time major winner and the Olympic and World Cup downhill ski champion.
All it took was a moment. Lindsey Vonn landed hard and tumbled face first with a piercing shriek.
Just like that, the star American skier was on the ground with two torn ligaments in her right knee and a broken bone in her lower leg.
Lindsey Vonn is healthy enough to race in Aspen even if her heart may be farther up north.
Although weakened by a bad stomach bug, the four-time overall World Cup champion will compete in one of the two races this weekend. She will take part in the giant slalom Saturday and then skip the slalom Sunday to conserve energy.

Sarah Burke was an X Games star with a grass-roots mentality — a daredevil superpipe skier who understood the risks inherent to her sport and the debt she owed to it for her success on the slopes.

CARRABASSETT VALLEY, Maine (AP) — Ski area maintenance workers dispatched to realign a lift cable were unable to fix the problem and had restarted the lift in an attempt to off-load riders when the cable derailed, sending skiers plummeting 25 to 30 feet, the resort said Wednesday.
