The conditions at McElroy Park on Thursday weren’t exactly ideal, and a lack of consistency again hurt the Jamestown Blue Jay softball team. Fast-pitch diamond gets name
Once work is completed on ball diamond No. 11 at McElroy Park later this month, the diamond will be named in honor of Lyle “Trapper” Lawrence. The Jamestown Parks and Recreation Commission unanimously approved a request made on behalf of Lawrence’s family by Darin Peterson to allow the family to name the ball diamond in honor of Lawrence, in exchange for a $15,000 donation.
