As painful as it was, the decision to cancel this year’s North Dakota State Fair in flood-ravaged Minot was the right thing to do. The flood was historic because of the damage caused by the Souris (Mouse) River, but the cancellation was historic, also. It’s the first time since Minot began hosting the fair in 1965 that it has had to be canceled.
Due to the popularity of past North Dakota State Fair Ranch Rodeo Championships, the 2011 North Dakota State Fair will feature two nights of Ranch Rodeo competition on Monday, July 25, and Thursday, July 28.
