Rob Keller has been promoted to advertising director at The Jamestown Sun, according to Bruce Henke, publisher.
Keller has been with The Sun since 1990 as an advertising account representative. He is a graduate of Jamestown High School and Valley City (N.D.) State University.
The Jamestown Sun received 50 awards in news, sports, photography and advertising at the annual convention of the North Dakota Newspaper Association in Fargo. The awards were given for work during 2009 in the division of newspapers with a circulation of 10,000 and under. Other newspapers in that division are the Devils Lake Journal, The Dickinson Press, Wahpeton Daily News, Williston Herald and Valley City Times-Record.
David Griswold has been hired as the newest member of the Jamestown Sun Sports department.
Griswold joins the Sun after spending nearly two years at the Marshall Independent in Marshall, Minn. He spent time as a sports writer and was the sports editor in Marshall for more than a year before joining The Sun on Monday.
The Jamestown Sun will not publish a newspaper on Friday, which is New Year’s Day. As a result, there are several changes with deadlines and publishing this week.
The public meeting notice schedule, which runs on page A3 each week, will be published on Thursday instead of Friday. Submissions for meeting notices are due by noon today.
The Jamestown Sun will not publish a newspaper on Jan. 1, which is New Year’s Day. Due to that change, the religion pages will instead appear in the Dec. 31 edition of the newspaper.
Copy submissions for the religion page for Dec. 31 are due by noon on Tuesday.
