Statewide taxable sales and purchases for the first quarter of 2009 increased while the sales figures for the 11-county area surrounding Jamestown declined, according to figures released by the Office of the State Tax Commissioner Wednesday.
North Dakota’s taxable sales and purchases for January through March of 2009 total $2.5 billion compared to $2.4 billion in 2008 for a 3.8 percent increase.
