JUNEAU, Alaska (AP) — Since his stunning defeat of Sen. Lisa Murkowski in the Republican primary, tea party favorite Joe Miller has suffered a series of potentially crippling missteps that have helped turn the Alaska Senate campaign into a highly competitive race.
Making a blanket statement that all people who go to tea party rallies are racist is ignorant. That’s like me saying all liberals are card-carrying socialists who just want to take from the rich and give to themselves because they believe they are entitled to it.
In Daniel Rugroden’s letter, “Accusing tea party of racism reveals critics’ desperation,” he claims that the tea party is not racist or hateful, and says “The truth about tea parties can only be revealed by someone who has been there.” Sure, and the only person we can believe when a crime is committed is the accused criminal, right?
