The University of North Dakota men’s hockey team has added a third goaltender.
Matt Hrynkiw was named the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League goaltender of the year this spring after posting a .939 save percentage and a 1.83 goals-against average for the Humboldt Broncos.
Former UND football standout Errol Mann died last week in Missoula, Mont. He was 71.
Mann played for UND in 1965 and 1966. After his UND career, Mann played in the NFL for 12 seasons. He played for five NFL teams, winning a Super Bowl ring with the Oakland Raiders in 1977.

Early in the month, UND finished one goal away from winning the MacNaughton Cup.
Saturday afternoon’s near-miss was a lot more painful.
In the final eight minutes, UND watched a 1-0 lead turn into a 4-1 loss to Yale University in the NCAA West Regional final in a quiet Van Andel Arena.
Josh Balch scored the tying goal with 7 minutes, 35 seconds left and Jesse Root added the eventual winner on the power play just 2:39 later as the Bulldogs crashed UND’s hopes for a sixth Frozen Four trip in nine years.
