The facts laid out by prosecutors are plain: In 2008, a U.S. government employee on assignment in Zimbabwe drove through the capital of Harare in his government-issued Toyota Land Cruiser and struck and killed a 34-year-old Zimbabwe man.
Police said Friday they are investigating what appears to be a politically motivated attack on a newly opened campaign office for President Barack Obama in Los Angeles, only days before he's scheduled to arrive in Southern California.

St. John’s Lutheran Church of Belford Township parishioners were preparing to host sunrise Easter service. But instead of enjoying breakfast at the church, they were speedily cleaning up broken glass and debris in the chapel, basement and storage room.
Vandals are suspected of using a bat to break six windows in the church overnight Saturday.

HASTINGS, Minn. – Authorities here have arrested a 19-year-old man for allegedly spray-painting swastikas, racially charged messages and other offensive material on a half dozen houses and several cars on Dec. 2.
Talk about sore losers. Just when you think the health care debate can’t sink any lower, somebody manages to punch through the floor.
The ink of President Barack Obama’s signature was hardly dry on his health care overhaul legislation before reports of vandalism and death threats against congressmen on both political sides threatened to upstage the bill that apparently sparked the anger.

A rest area east of Rugby has been closed after vandals destroyed bathroom fixtures, lights and a pay phone.
The North Dakota Highway Patrol says the Pleasant Lake rest area along U.S. Highway 2 was vandalized Saturday night or Sunday morning.
The rest area has been closed until repairs are made.
