The National Weather Service issued a flood watch Sunday for areas including Stutsman County. Meteorologists warn of potential river and overland flooding due to the warmer weather expected this week, said Janine Vining, NWS meteorologist.
“We do think it’s going to affect the rate of snow melt and things like that across the whole state,” Vining said.
Jamestown is under a winter storm watch effective from Wednesday night through Friday morning.
The watch comes one week before the Severe Winter Weather Awareness Week in North Dakota, an event designed to get people thinking about winter weather safety.
