ESPN takes over Wimbledon coverage

All of Wimbledon will be televised by ESPN starting next year, ending NBC’s 43-year run broadcasting the Grand Slam tournament. ESPN and the All England Club announced a 12-year contract Tuesday that gives the cable network the U.S. TV rights to all matches at Wimbledon.

So what if she bungled her serve so badly that she double-faulted 13 times? All that mattered to Sharapova was that she roared — well, shrieked — her way back into the match, taking 12 of the last 16 games to beat wild-card entry Sabine Lisicki of Germany 6-4, 6-3 and return to the final at the All England Club for the first time since 2004, when she won the title at 17.

BCN bond issue to return: Voters in the school district will again decide whether to build a new school in Leal area

Voters in the Barnes County North Public School District will go to the polls for the second time in seven months to decide a school bond issue. An election has been scheduled for April 19 on a $14.5 million bond issue to build a centralized school. The same issue failed on Sept. 20 when it received just less than 50 percent of the vote. It needed a 60 percent majority to pass.

Wimbledon museum gets grant

Ten North Dakota tourism entities received 2011 Tourism Infrastructure and Expansion Grants from the North Dakota Department of Commerce. These grants support new or expanding tourism or recreation facilities or designated development areas primarily by funding infrastructure projects. The Tourism Infrastructure and Expansion Grants are matching grants requiring the sponsor to provide $1 for every $2 of grant money being requested. The total amount of grant dollars awarded for this program is $99,312.
