Housing study: Region to need almost 2,800 more units by 2020

By 2020 the nine-county area serviced by the South Central Dakota Regional Council will need 2,799 more housing units, according to a new study. The SCDRC released the second part of its Region VI Housing Needs Assessment study Monday, conducted by Maxfield Research Inc., of Minneapolis, Minn., which shows that Stutsman County will need 1,041 more housing units by 2020.

Construction to replicate a landmark from the early days of Jamestown is under way. A two-story gazebo is being built next to the Stutsman County Memorial Museum, according to Alden Kollman, curator at the Stutsman County Memorial Museum. It will be a replica of the gazebo that once stood by the downtown railroad tracks and depot.
