Cramer has been there for ND veterans
A Jan. 15 letter from Chris Deery that attacked Rep. Kevin Cramer was misleading and short-sighted. The letter suggested that a 2014 Cramer campaign ad “displays disrespect for veterans” because it was shot at a state-owned cemetery. The letter was penned by Deery, a veteran himself. First of all, I thank Deery for his service to our nation. Even when we disagree on politics, it should not come at the expense of the things that really matter. We’re all Americans, and we too easily forget that in today’s divisive political climate. Secondly, I recognize that the rights to self-expression are among the very things that those in uniform fight to protect. As a veteran myself, I personally believe that the ad was tasteful and honorable toward the fallen. Of course, I respect that others may disagree. But, at the end of the day, I think most of us are tired of the war of words in today’s politics. People want to see results.
