Taco feed and pops music returns to JHS

The Jamestown High School Choir, with special guests the Jamestown Middle School Choir, will present its annual Pops Concert and Taco Feed Monday at Jamestown High School.

The taco feed, served by Taco John’s, will begin at 5 p.m. in the high school Commons area with music provided by high school choir members, the JHS Jazz Band and Jazz Ensemble. The Pops Concert, featuring the JHS Show Choir, Blue Jazz, middle school choir and high school concert choir, begins at 7  p.m.

Selections include the middle school pops choir singing the national anthem and music from “Phantom of the Opera.” The high school choir will present “Down By the Riverside,” “God Bless America” and “The William Tell Overture.”

The two choirs will combine on an African piece called “How Many Morning.” The JHS Show Choir will perform “I’m a Believer” from Shrek; “Joyful, Joyful,” from Sister Act; “Turn the Beat Around,” from Pitch Perfect; and “Hot, Hot, Hot.”

The Blue Jazz Ensemble will perform “You’d Be So Nice to Come Home To,” “Skylark,” “Joy to the World,” “Fields of Gold” and “Sh-Boom.”

Tickets for the taco feed are available at the door or from JHS Choir students for $8 for an individual ticket or $25 for an immediate family ticket.
