Trevin Behm, a 7-year-old boy who was devastated after his family lost their dog, Tucker, to a cancerous tumor, started a fundraiser Jan. 22 to purchase food for hungry dogs.

In less than a month, Trevin raised nearly $1,200, and with MAACKE Plumbing Heating & Air LLC of Jamestown matching up to $500, Trevin’s fundraiser totaled at nearly $1,700.

Trevin’s mother, Kendra Behm, chose Prairie Paws Rescue as the beneficiary of the fundraiser because the organization let Trevin pick out what kind of food and other items to donate. The family went to Tractor Supply Co. in Jamestown last Saturday to present Kaye John of Prairie Paws Rescue with food and other treats.

All donations received after last Saturday will be forwarded to Prairie Paws Rescue, Kendra said.
