Suicide prevention walk set for May 4

The LaMoure County Suicide Prevention Walk will be held May 4 at the Community Center in Kulm.

Anyone can participate as a team, an individual walker or a volunteer for the event.

The event raises funds for education and outreach materials promoting suicide awareness and offers a network of support to those who have lost a loved one to suicide.

Registration can be done online at https://sites. Registration will also be held on the day of the event at 1 p.m. People can register at no cost and donations are welcome.

Donations can be made in person at the walk location, or checks can be made to the LaMoure Lions and sent to Sandra Rupp at 8558 68th St. SE, Edgeley, ND 58433. For more information about making donations, contact Rupp at (701) 493-2739.

Nellie Degen will be the keynote speaker for the event. There will be a short program followed by the walk at 2 p.m. After the walk, an opportunity will be available for teams to participate in designing quilt squares that will become part of a memory quilt in honor of a loved one.

The Community Center is located at 4 1st Ave. SE in Kulm.
