ATV safety courses planned in area
JakeStar is sponsoring three youth all-terrain vehicle safety courses this spring and summer in southeastern North Dakota to further focus efforts on children’s safety.
The first youth ATV safety course sponsored by JakeStar and LaMoure Emergency Medical Services took place on May 10.
Forty-one kids participated in the off highway vehicle safety class held by the North Dakota Parks and Recreation Department. Children who signed up for the course were given a free helmet and had their registration fees covered by local businesses and families.
Children 12 and older who missed out on this class have two more opportunities to sign up for ATV safety courses this summer. The classes will take place at 1 p.m. July 19 at Westside Park in Oakes, N.D., and at 2:30 p.m. Aug. 16 at LaMoure County Memorial Park in LaMoure, N.D. All registration fees will be paid for by JakeStar. To register, visit firstname.lastname@example.org or call (701) 328-5348.
This year’s JakeStar Festival will take place Aug. 15-16 at LaMoure County Memorial Park. The event will feature a wide variety of music, including performances by Whisky 7, John Narum, Junk FM, Jerimiah James Korfe, Crankshaft, Bobby Cyrus and more. Entertainment will also include a golf tournament, 5k run/walk, overnight camping and activities for children of all ages.
