Victory Christian School hosts Fishing and Fun Day

Victory Christian School invites the public to the 2nd Annual Kala Schroeder-Bercier Fishing and Fun Day on Saturday.

Boats will meet at Pelican Point Campgrounds to fish from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.

A fish fry and potluck follows at 5:30 p.m. at the campgrounds. Door prizes will be given away.

Guests Gary and Scott Witkop will speak beginning at 6 p.m.

Gary Witkop has been an avid outdoorsman his whole life, fishing and hunting across many states in the northern and western U.S. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in aquatic biology from Bemidji State University, Bemidji, Minnesota, and a diploma from Lutheran Brethren Seminary. He is the author of “Trail Talk, Devotions for the Outdoors” and has written articles for various magazines including Christian Sportsman Magazine. He and his wife, Debra, live in Arvada, Colorado, and have three grown children and eight grandchildren.

Scott Witkop is an avid sport fisherman and veteran walleye tournament angler. He is currently sponsored by Skeeter Boats and Yamaha Outboards. He has created OnLineFish ingGuide.Net, a source of information for all anglers: the tournament pro, the competent sport fisherman, the weekend warrior and the family vacationer to find precise fishing locations, presentations and what to use.

Donations are accepted at the event, all of which will go to the Kala Schroeder-Bercier scholarship fund.

Victory Christian School and Victory Lutheran Church are located at 510 9th Ave. SW. The office can be reached at 251-1570.
