HLA Choir to perform at Victory

Hillcrest Lutheran Academy Choir of Fergus Falls, Minn., will perform at 8:15 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. Sunday, April 23, at Victory Lutheran Church in Jamestown.

All 43 choir members are senior high school students at Hillcrest Lutheran Academy.

The chamber choir will perform the gospel piece “Celebrate” by Keith Hampton, “Lord of the Dance” by John Rutter and “Gentle Annie” by Stephen Foster. Additional songs performed by the chamber choir include “Praise to the Lord” by F Melius Christenson, “For the Beauty of the Earth” by John Rutter and “Be Thou My Vision” arranged by Heather Sorenson.

The Hillcrest Jazz Choir will perform four songs -- “Bones Aba” arranged by Andrew Fisher, “Fields of Gold” by GM Sumner, “How Beautiful” by Twila Paris and “Elijah Rock,” a traditional spiritual arranged by Roger Emerson.

Hillcrest Lutheran Academy is a subsidiary educational institution of the Church of the Lutheran Brethren, which headquarters are in Fergus Falls.

The public is invited to hear this program. No admission will be charged, but a freewill offering will be accepted.
