Century defeats Jamestown for Class A volleyball crown

Cozby speaking at ladies luncheon

The Harbor, Edgeley, N.D., will be the scene for a Ladies Spring Luncheon at noon May 8. Guest speaker for the event will be Shannon Cozby. Cozby was born and raised in Olympia, Wash. She moved to Jamestown to attend Jamestown College. She graduated with a double major in biology and English, and was named a College Fellow in English. During her junior year at Jamestown College, she married JP Cozby. They live and work in Jamestown. Shannon Cozby's main career is that of a stay-at-home mom of two, ages 1 and 3, and as a housewife. She also tutors for a local homeschool family and works part time as the secretary of First Baptist Church. Cozby has been involved off and on in women's ministry since her college days, leading and attending Bible studies, speaking at events, planning retreats and hosting activities. Her desire is to see herself and the women around her cultivating healthy relationships -- with God, with self, with family, with other women -- and, no matter their age, becoming the women they were created to be. "God has a plan for all of us," Cozby said. "A good plan. It's not always pretty. It's not always easy. But it's good. And it's worth it." Reservations are required and seating is limited. Tickets are $7.50 per person and are available from Pat Lackman, 493-2528, and Stella Edwards, 493-2449. The last date to purchase tickets will be May 3.
