Donations sought for Coats for Kids
Donations of coats and other winter clothing items will be accepted at the Jamestown Salvation Army and Ave Maria Village through Monday, Oct. 2, as part of the annual Coats for Kids campaign.
Ken Votava, deacon at Ave Maria Village, said coats, hats, mittens, gloves, scarves, boots and other winter clothing items are always a great need with winter approaching. He said there is no one particular size that is needed, but sometimes older children’s sizes are forgotten in winter clothing drives.
“The older children need coats as well,” he said.
Any donated winter items should be clean and in good working order. People may drop off their donations at the Jamestown Salvation Army, 320 1st Ave. N, or at the Ave Maria Village chaplain’s office, 501 19th St. NE.
