Bismarck turns down liquor license

BISMARCK (AP) -- The Bismarck City Commission turned down the idea of a new type of liquor license that would allow the sale and delivery of alcohol to homes.

Cody Fleckenstein ask-ed for the change so he could start a business. He said home delivery would help keep drinking drivers off the road. He said there would be documentation to show who purchased the alcohol and took delivery.

The city attorney told the commission that state law would have to be changed before the city could consider creating or approving such a license.
