Girl runs away from Attendant Care
A 16-year-old girl in the care of the Attendant Care program escaped from authorities Thursday night, said Vince Ament, juvenile court officer III.
The girl, who was there because she had a history of running away, was later apprehended, he said.
Attendant Care, a program that cares for children accused of crimes or children who need a safe place to stay likely because a parent or guardian was charged with a crime, has had one other runaway in its 20 years of operation, Ament said.
By federal mandate, Attendant Care workers do not lock doors, he said.
