Woman arrested after multiple hit-and-runs

A Jamestown woman was arrested following a brief foot chase Wednesday after a string of hit-and-run incidents with her own vehicle, according to the Jamestown Police Department.

Lt. James Hunt, nightshift supervisor with the Jamestown Police Department, said Samantha Raduenz, 25, was arrested for driving while intoxicated. Raduenz is suspected of being the driver of a 2006 Ford Mustang that struck three vehicles and two trees, he said.

At about 4 p.m. the Stutsman County Communications Center received calls from several witnesses, including the driver of a car that was struck by the Mustang in the 1000 block of 7th Avenue Southeast, he said. The Mustang then struck a pickup truck in the Cashwise parking lot, he said.

The Mustang continued to northeast Jamestown where it struck a vehicle in the 900 block of 14th Street Northeast near the Jamestown Gymnastics Club, he said.

The Mustang continued and struck a tree in the 1400 block of 10th Avenue Northeast. The car continued until it was disabled after striking a second tree in the 1100 block of 13th Street Northeast, he said.

At that point witnesses said the driver exited the vehicle and fled south in the area of Bottles & Jugs. Police caught Raduenz and apprehended her, he said.

"An ambulance was called and she was taken to the ER (emergency room) and released," Hunt said.

Hunt said Raduenz is being held in the Stutsman County Correctional Center.
