Cash Wise Foods recalls improperly labeled gluten free chocolate chip bars
Coborn’s Inc. is recalling packages of its gluten free chocolate chip bars sold at Coborn’s and Cash Wise Foods stores due to a product containing milk and a mistake in labeling.
Some of the gluten free chocolate chip bars were incorrectly labeled as gluten free fudge brownies, according to a press release about the recall from Coborn’s Inc. The chocolate chip bars contain milk, while the fudge brownies do not. People with allergies to milk who purchased the improperly labeled fudge brownies between Tuesday, July 4, and Thursday, July 6, at Coborn’s and Cash Wise Foods in North Dakota, South Dakota and Minnesota should not consume the product.
The improperly labeled fudge brownies will have an expiration date of July 10 and a UPC of 7-33147-20522-8. Customers who purchased these goods and have a milk allergy should destroy the product or return it to the store where it was purchased for a full refund.
The recall was initiated Thursday after the mistake was discovered. Coborn’s Inc. officials said in a press release the problem has been corrected and all packages going out contain the correct label.
