ND man who fled to Las Vegas to go on trial for wounding 2 in shooting at bar with AK-47
MINOT, N.D. -- A 26-year-old Minot man will be tried sometime in January for attempted murder.
Steven Dolorenzo Stewart is accused in the Oct. 26, 2016. shooting at the Sports on Tap bar in Minot where two men were injured by gunfire from an AK-47 rifle.
Stewart, who fled after the shooting and was captured in Las Vegas in March, is charged with attempted murder, a Class A felony, and two counts of reckless endangerment, both Class C felonies.
According to court documents, Stewart shot a bystander, Deion Louden, in the lower abdomen and left wrist, and shot Newsy Davis, a man whom he had been involved in a disagreement with earlier that evening, in the leg. He is also accused of firing into a crowd of 50 to 75 people with the rifle.
Stewart is also currently facing three Class B felony charges in North Central District Court in Minot for delivery of cocaine and meth, all dating back to February 2016.
He is also charged with three Class A misdemeanors dating back to July 2016, including fleeing from a police officer, lying to a police officer, and driving under suspension.
