Man identified in Walhalla, N.D., crash
WALHALLA, N.D.-- Authorities have identified the Walhalla man killed in a one-vehicle crash in northern North Dakota Friday night, Oct. 20.
Matthew Webster was pronounced dead at scene in eastern Cavalier County after being ejected from a pickup that failed to negotiate a right-hand curve at about 11:45 p.m. Friday, according to the North Dakota Highway Patrol. He was 33.
The driver, Heinrich Penner Fehr, 31, was transported by ambulance to Pembina County Memorial Hospital. Troopers say Fehr will be charged with driving under the influence.
The wreck occurred about five miles west of Walhalla, when Fehr rolled his 2002 Chevrolet K-1500 while traveling east on 105th Street Northeast at a curve in the road near the intersection with 121st Avenue Northeast.
Neither man was wearing a seatbelt, according to the Highway Patrol.
The crash remains under investigation.
