U.S. ag secretary visits northern S.D.
TIMBER LAKE, S.D. — U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Sonny Perdue visited northern South Dakota on Thursday looking over the prairie pothole region and meeting with an intertribal agriculture group.
Perdue toured the prairie pothole landscape in northeast South Dakota and then meet with the Intertribal Agriculture Council in Timber Lake as part of roundtable discussion.
Timber Lake is just west of the Missouri River in north-central South Dakota on the Standing Rock Indian Reservation.
Donita Fischer of the ag council said the discussion was wide open.
