The deadline for eligible expenses for the Emergency Hay Transportation Assistance Program has again been extended to Nov. 17, the North Dakota Department of Agriculture announced.
The program will reimburse eligible producers for a portion of hay transportation expenses incurred between June 1 and Nov. 17, 2017. The deadline for applications to be submitted has also been extended until Nov. 17.
“Producers are still transporting hay from long distances, and in many cases they’re only getting one load a day,” said Doug Goehring, agriculture commissioner. “People have expressed that the program is meaningful, and we want to give them the opportunity to count loads that are still being moved.”
