One dead in Walsh County crash, Sheriff’s Office

One person died in a two-vehicle crash Friday in Walsh County, according to the North Dakota Highway Patrol.

The crash occurred at 10 a.m. when a 2016 Ford F250 heading west on N.D. Highway 17 attempted a left turn onto N.D. Highway 32 about 6 miles west of Park River, N.D., the patrol said. The Ford crossed in front of an eastbound 1996 Peterbilt truck that struck the Ford on the passenger side.

The 75-year-old man who was driving the Ford died at the scene of the crash, the patrol said. The man was not wearing a seat belt.

The 55-year-old man who was driving the Peterbilt and wearing a seat belt was transported by Park River EMS to First Care Health Center in Park River for treatment of injuries.

The name and hometown of the drivers will be released upon notification of next of kin, the patrol said.

Walsh County Sheriff’s Office and Park River Fire & Rescue also responded to the scene.
