One injured in Medina area accident
A Minnesota woman received minor injuries in a two-vehicle accident near Medina Sunday, according to the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
The accident occurred at 10:15 a.m. on Interstate 94 about 3 miles west of Medina in Stutsman County.
A 2016 International semi with trailer driven by Fredrick Jones, 50, Monango, N.D., was traveling westbound at 35 mph because of diesel fuel problems. A 2015 Porsche Cayenne, driven by Lara Weisman, 37, Excelsior, Minn., was also traveling westbound. Weisman was distracted, did not see the truck, and the Porsche rear-ended the semi, the patrol said.
Medina Ambulance transported Weisman to Jamestown Regional Medical Center for minor injuries. A passenger in the Porsche, Scott Mills 39, Buffalo, Minn., was not injured.
Weisman was cited for care required.
Occupants of both vehicles were wearing their seat belts and the airbags deployed in the Porsche.
